Rental Requirements and General Qualifications

No Shuttle Services - Customer is responsible for getting to location for pick up.

Rates are for reservations booked online. All rates based on 24 hr day, 7 day week. Rates for phonereservations may differ. Rates are for class of vehicle, model may vary. We allow 150 free miles perday for passenger vehicles, 100 free miles per day for cargo vehicles.

The Rent-A-Wreck vehicle may be driven only by a renter, additional renter or an authorized driver listed in the rental agreement. All renters, additional renters or authorized drivers are required to qualify to drive the Rent-A-Wreck vehicle. To qualify, Rent-A-Wreck requires that all renters, additional renters and additional drivers (including spouses) appear at the time of rental and provide; a valid driver’s license, a physical street address (residence), an accepted payment card in their own name with funds available, sign the rental agreement and pay an additional renter or driver fee. All renters, additional renters or authorized drivers may be subject to a driver record check and or a credit record check. Government renters on official orders, corporate account customers renting on corporate rate plans, and drivers or companions of physically impaired customers do not need to pay an additional driver fee. The additional renter or driver may also be subject to an underage 25 driver's fee. No other persons are authorized to drive the vehicle. Because the requirements vary by location, please refer to the location's terms and conditions for specific information on additional driver qualifications and fees at the Rent-A-Wreck location where you intend to rent a vehicle. There is a $10 per day additional driver fee.

No after hours drop off is available.

Coverage provided by 3rd party carriers may be acceptable if the policy has been prepaid for a minimum of 30 days from the date of the rental and will provide collision and comprehensive insurance benefits to cover the rented vehicle.

Physical Damage Coverage is required and must be provided by one of the following:
1. Your personal auto policy with collision coverage. Verification required. If your insurance doesn't cover your damage you are responsible.
2. Your credit card's 'Rental Vehicle Coverage'. Verification required. If your cards Rental coverage doesn't cover your damage you are responsible.
3. Your purchase our Collision Damage Waiver. Ask your attendant for current rates. Your responsibility will be a deductible of $500.

We do not offer roadside assistance. Tires are your responsibility.

In addition, proper returning of your rental is your responsibility. Not returning your car is a class 1 Felony, and recovery fees will be your responsibility.

We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and cash. There is a $100.00 deposit no matter the form of payment.

There is a $250 cleaning fee for any vehicles found to have been returned in an unsatisfactory manner; to include excessive external mud/debris, animal related, internal damage to dashboard, floor boards, and upholstery including smoke damage.

If your vehicle is not returned within 1 hour of your contracts expiring date and time we will bill you for another day.

We must be able to get ahold of you in case of an emergency and require both a phone number for you and an emergency contact.

The renter must refill the fuel tank to the same level as when the vehicle was rented, within a 10-mile radius of the rental return facility and present a fuel receipt to avoid a refueling charge.

Renters that choose the prepaid fuel option, if available, will pay the specified charge as set forth in the rental agreement and have no obligation to return the vehicle with any fuel. There is no credit or refund given for any fuel in the tank at the end of the rental.

Renters that do not choose the prepaid fuel option and do not return the vehicle at the same fuel level as when rented, with a re-fueling receipt with 10 miles, will be required to pay a fuel charge for the cost and service of refueling the vehicle. The fuel charge is based on the estimated number of gallons needed to refill the tank multiplied by the rate per gallon charge specified on the rental agreement plus a refueling convenience fee.

Valid driver's license and insurance card are required at time of pick-up. Minimum age to rent is 21. Any renter that is 21 MUST have their own insurance. Any person wishing to rent a passenger van must be at least 25 years old. Proof of liability insurance is required at time of rental. Please note: Prepaid reservations require that the same card be presented at the time of rental as was used to book the prepaid reservation, and the name of the person making the reservation must be the same as the renter of the vehicle. Cancellations must be 7 days out or you will lose your deposit.

Rent-A-Wreck will not be financially responsible for any personal belongings left in the rental vehicle, shuttle vehicle or within the location premises. If you have lost items, please call us.
